In 2022, when AI image generation was still realtively new, I created this project to test if Midjourney could create a large, aesthetically consistent set of images that satisfied my criteria in terms of art direction. The concept was 'speculative biology' and overall I was very pleased with (and surprised at) the quality of the output. Obviously the lanscape has shifted dramatically in terms of what AI can produce since then, but at the time it was exciting to think about the possibilities this could offer my professional workflow.
